ABSTRACT The present investigation has like general objective to determine the criteria of design of prototypes of housings of ferrocemento in base to principles of sustainability in the sector 22 of the district of Cajamarca in the year 2017, likewise has like specific objectives; determine the design criteria and analyze the principles of sustainability applied to ferrocement homes, as well as determine which is the main design criterion to apply all the principles of sustainability. The research is presented and developed in two parts, fundamentally in the first, the theoretical foundation that will sustain the second part consists in the design of ferrocement housing prototypes based on principles of sustainability which will serve as a parameter of economic comparison vs traditional houses.The growth of informal homes that use a large amount of energy resources to maintain a comfort that could have been achieved through a design that really adapted to the site and take advantage of the resources that this provides unlimited use of sustainability principles. As a methodology, it was chosen to analyze three cases and to carry out interviews with pioneering specialists in ferrocement constructions, the works analyzed belong to the architects Javier Senosiain and Jesús Sánchez Luqueño, the same ones who were interviewed with the purpose of achieving in the design of the house of ferrocement that takes advantage of solar energy, winds, reuses water, recycles waste, produces food, avoids contamination of all kinds and has a long life by providing security to the user. It is sought, above all things, that the quality of life of the user is increased and improve their life expectancy to develop in an innovative, comfortable, economic, safe and sustainable housing. With the research carried out and the project proposed, it is concluded that the main design criterion that influences to apply all sustainability principles is the form, represented in its surfaces of simple and double curvature, it was also possible to analyze and investigate ferrocement projects with criteria sustainable By using the ovoid shape, the principles of environmental, social and economic sustainability can be applied, reducing the cost by 40% more than traditional housing.
