The objective of this study is to determine how lead management increases the effectiveness of the sales process in a heavy machinery company in the city of Trujillo, 2021. It is important to consider that the sales area is the driving force behind commercial strategies and, in turn, these must be aligned with the goals and objectives of each company to achieve the planned success. The development of the research is descriptive, with a non-experimental design, and all the documents referred to by the areas of study (sales and marketing) of the Trujillo branch were taken as a sample. This tool led to the conclusion that lead management has an impact on the efficiency of the sales process since it causes the total sales closing ratio equal to 14% (considering only the sales opportunities generated by sales force coverage management) to drop to 10% (general sales opportunities closing ratio in which sales opportunities derived from leads are included), that is, including opportunities derived from lead management increases sales activities and opportunities for the sales force; however, the quality of these opportunities does not contribute positively to the final closing ratio; It is deduced that it increases prospecting and administrative activities but not the effectiveness of the sales process itself.
