This research study was carried out in a commercial company located in the city of Trujillo, which is a marketer of accessories and toys for children. The general objective of the research work was to determine to what extent the proposed improvement in the logistics area affects operating costs in a commercial company located in the city of Trujillo. All the factors that affect logistics management were evaluated and the impact they cause was recognized. Among the most common problems in the Logistics area are: Poor distribution of work areas, lack of sales planning, Lack of order and cleanliness in work areas and the lack of warehouse management. Faced with this, the implementation of the MRP, SLP, 5S and Warehouse Management methodologies was proposed. Which generates a monthly loss of S / 91,020.25 soles per month. Operating costs were reduced by S / 47,487.00 soles, this being equivalent to a 52% improvement. Finally, the economic and financial evaluation was carried out, and it was concluded that the investment necessary for the implementation is justifiable, since it presents a positive NPV (S / 13,874.00) and an IRR of 95% (the minimum expected profitability is 60%). . In addition, there is a cost benefit of S / 1.9, which is greater than 1 and the recovery of the investment (PRI) is 2.5 years.
