This research will study seismic protection systems with energy dissipators, emphasizing the viscous fluid system in diagonal arrangement, which focuses on developing and showing the entire analysis process, performance, differences between a building without and with energy dissipators. incorporating the dual building with multi-family use and design of modern seismic protection systems such as viscous fluid seismic dissipators in diagonal arrangement. E The primary objective of this research is to determine how the incorporation of Viscous Fluid Dissipators in diagonal arrangement influences the control of the seismic response of the building, for this purpose a study of the variables that are involved in its development was carried out, thus such as the determination of the structural system of the building and elements that make up the structure, the evaluation of irregularities in plan and height for structural considerations. In addition, determining the R factor and the lateral displacements of each level, obtaining the compatible seismic records for our local conditions, scaling the seismic records to our regulatory design spectrum, Time History analysis, determining the characteristics of the dissipators, design of the Heatsinks among others (Vela, 2011). P For this purpose, a mathematical model of the building was developed in the ETABS v18 software (30-day trial version). The methods used to fulfill our objectives were analytical to the building under study (Plans, soil study, among others.). The process of analysis and structural design of the building for multifamily use (housing) is concluded, the structure in the event of a severe earthquake, will be able to withstand without any structural failure and provide the protection of life and global stability in the The main structure that makes up the building, having a slight damage, the main structure has been repairable, and in the event of a severe seismic event, in a conventional structure without energy dissipators, the absorption of seismic forces is carried out by the structural walls (plates) and columns that make up the main structure, in a building with dissipators, they are the first to carry out seismic absorption, leaving the difference to the main structure of the building and the foundation soil if the effect of seismic soil-structure interaction is considered in order to decrease the seismic force generated in the main structure (Vargas, 2018). The viscous fluid energy dissipaters in diagonal dissipation do not alter the natural periods of vibration or the frequencies in the building, keeping said values stable in the different mathematical models elaborated in the present study. The incorporation of viscous dissipators was able to satisfy the structural needs and meet the architectural requirement and other main requirements of the project under study. Finally, the results of the economic evaluation based on prices proposed by the manufacturer indicate that the cost of the fluid-viscous damping system in diagonal arrangement in this structure and for this performance level, is around $ 112,600 for the building in study which varies in another building (Corrales, 2010).
