In this study we examined the optimization of the functional evaluation using the ROADROID software and the MERLIN method, having a type of research that was by purpose applied, with an explanatory level, and Quasi-experimental design, the population is made up of an urban flexible pavement, the sample was constituted by Prolongation Iquitos Av., Javier Prado Av. and Petit Thouars Av. Obtaining the variability of the Roadroid software with the Merlin method oscillates in a data difference between 0 to 27.50% considering it adequate, for greater reliability of similarity the coefficient of determination (R²) 0.9137, 0.5764 and 0.8703 were used for the right, middle and left lanes, the values are considered reliable for being close to 1; adopting as representative roughness the one generated by the Roadroid software, presenting positive values of average roughness which is 2.49 m/km. Establishing in this way the level of breathability with a uniform qualitative scale, considering therefore that the pavement is passable, as it is also classified by the Serviceability Index (PSI) as good, in the same way the software demonstrates a good performance in data collection, since we can reduce the time, cost and increase the safety of the working personnel. Finally, the overall conclusion is that the Roadroid software method, which positively influences the functional assessment, is a viable option for measuring the IRI.
