The National Superintendency of Customs and Tax Administration (SUNAT) is the entity in charge of overseeing the collection, inspection and administration of taxes in Peru; to do so, it verifies and reconciles the information declared by the companies and that these are as transparent and as reliable as possible. The collection for the State is vital, since this will allow to make the public works budgeted as much as possible; for example, the construction of roads, schools, hospitals, etc. The omission or noncompliance with the timely payment of taxes damages not only the Peruvian state, but also the companies, since they would be accredited with fines and penalties for these inconveniences. The present investigation will allow demonstrating how the control of the per diem expenses affects the determination of the income tax of the company subject of study, for which an analysis has been made corresponding to the expenses incurred in the trips by the collaborators, expenses that are related to passages, food and lodging that in sum are called travel expenses. Finally, this research will allow us to understand the importance of the controls and policies that the company should implement, for the correct accountability of the per diem expenses, since these expenses will influence on the determination of the income tax.
