The objective of this research study is to design an inventory management system to reduce costs in the company Company Acenor in the city of Cajamarca; the diagnosis of the problem was examined using the Ishikawa diagram and techniques and tools selected from our antecedents were used for the improvement design. The ABC classification and inventory policies used by Araujo (2017) were used; of the supply plan recommended by Cabanillas & Guevara (2018); the 5’S methodology used by Lara (2017); Inventory control (kardex), reorder point and safety stock used in the Correa & León research (2019) and the implementation of new software that will allow them to correctly manage their purchases and inventories in real time. Obtaining to determine the products with the highest turnover, their respective location, greater inventory control, clean spaces and areas, establishing purchase policies, stock policies; all this leading to a reduction in costs by 73%; representing a total of S / .222,754.99 soles corresponding to the cost of inventory, maintenance cost and operating costs. In the same way, it was obtained through the financial analysis that the improvement design is viable to maintain a net value greater than zero, which is S / .18,896.96; an internal rate of return of 69% being higher than the opportunity cost of capital which is 23.53%; and generating a return of 2.06 for each sol invested.
