In the wood construction industry, without a doubt, a renewable natural resource, which could have a positive impact, as long as the predated forests have not been lost, thus becoming a sustainable activity, comparing this situation with the one We live in America and Europe, who have 100% of homes made of wood. The purpose of this research is to provide some necessary prototypes to choose the appropriate wood, so it is necessary to evaluate the shapes and types of wood on the humidity, density, compression and bending applied to the construction of houses in Trujillo. The types of wood were evaluated such as: cachimbo, capirona, catahua, cedar, copaiba, huayruro, ishpingo, mohena, pine, pumaquiro, screw, utucuro, in its most usual forms: rectangular, square and circular; for this, its physical properties were evaluated, such as: humidity according to the NTP standard. 251.010 with specimens of 2 cm x 3 cm x 10 cm and density according to the NTP standard. 251.011 with test pieces 3 cm x 3 cm x 10cm; We also evaluate the mechanical properties such as: flexural strength as indicated by the NTP standard. 251.017 with specimens 2.5 cm x 2.5 cm x 38 cm; 2 cm x 3 cm x 3 8cm; Ø 2 cm x 38cm and parallel understanding according to the NTP standard. 251.017 with specimens 5 cm x 5 cm x 20 cm;4 cm x 5 cm x 20 cm and Ø 5cm x 20 cm. The results obtained in the density test determined that the capirona wood has high density since they have a high natural durability and is recommended for structural elements that do not have contact with the ground, while the pine wood obtains a very low density and possesses Less resistance to being a very soft wood, does not resist biological attacks. Finally, through statistical analysis, it is confirmed based on the results obtained that the pumaquiro wood achieved the best results; in its three geometric shapes evaluated; rectangular, square and circular; in comparison of the 12 types of wood analyzed. This allows us to give more flexibility to the users in the choice of one or few known species when there are others of similar characteristics, avoiding unjustified preferences in prices due to the scarcity of some type of wood. For this it is important to publicize the use of structural elements such as wooden beams and columns for housing, are equal or more competitive than the traditional structural element of concrete, so the comparison was made of how much more profitable and effective can reach be its use Basically for the yields and the speed of construction, where it was demonstrated that it is 95% faster than the traditional one and consequently low costs in construction, thus the wood becomes highly competitive before any material.
