Las funciones del Leitmotiv musical como componente narrativo de los géneros de animación japonesa Shonen y Seinen

Abstract

En la actualidad, existen innumerables géneros y formatos cinematográficos. Algunos de estos poseen características peculiarmente atractivas que han permitido su continua masificación entre los espectadores. Uno de ellos es el anime japonés, distinguido mundialmente por sus impresionantes composiciones eufónicas. La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo determinar las funciones que cumple el leitmotiv musical como componente narrativo de los géneros de animación japonesa Shonen y Seinen. Para ello, se realizó un estudio cualitativo que comprendió la lectura e interpretación sistemática de material de archivo animado (noventa y siete escenas pertenecientes a los animes Saint Seiya, Saga de Hades – Capítulos del Santuario y One Punch Man, Temporada), centrándose en el análisis sonoro. Tras este estudio se pudo establecer que el motivo conductor cumple con tres funciones fundamentales en estos contextos: la descriptiva, indicativa y sustitutiva, sirviendo –de esta manera– como precedente para futuras investigaciones asociadas al fenómeno acústico en el campo audiovisual.

Nowadays, there are countless film genres and formats. Some of them have really attractive features that allowed their continuous massification in the entertainment industry. Worldwide, one of the most recognized is Japanese anime, particularly distinguished for its impressive visual and sound compositions. With this in mind, this study sought to explore the functions of the musical leitmotif as a narrative component of the Japanese animation genres Shonen and Seinen. To this end, a qualitative research took place and included the systematic reading and interpretation of animated material, focusing on its sound analysis, specifically ninety-nine scenes from Saint Seiya, The Hades Chapter – Sanctuary and One Punch Man, Season 1. The investigation found that the leitmotif develops three fundamental functions in these contexts: descriptive, indicative, and substitutive. Therefore, these contributions will serve as a precedent for future research associated with the acoustic phenomenon in the audiovisual field.
