ABSTRACT The aim of this investigation was to establish the relationship between the dimensions of the use of social networks and the dimensions of values in college students in a private university in Trujillo. The sample was obtained by a stratified no probabilistic procedure, being evaluated 212 students of the Faculty of Health Sciences. For this research, the SOCIAL NETWORK ADDICTION (ARS) validated by Salas and Escurra in 2014, as well as the PORTRAIT VALUES QUESTIONARY (PVQ) has made by Shalom Schwartz in 2001. The results show a negative correlation with small effect size between the use of social networks and openness to change dimension. It was also found that 53.8% are al a medium level in the use of social networks, and on the other hand the values that predominate in university students are tradition, conformity, security, universalism and benevolence. Key words: Use of social networks; values; openness to change; university students.
