In the agricultural sector, there are rendering industries that are mainly responsible for stabilizing the raw material with heat by evaporating the water content and sterilizing at the same time animal by-products that have a high level of water and fat. In these companies, the estimated use of the slaughtered animal is 27% and is mainly divided into meat, pet food and rendering for the production of protein meal. The research focuses on an agricultural production company in balanced foodstuffs, which has presented a low availability in the milling process representing 77.01% and the availability in the manufacturing sector in companies that use mills is 80%. The main causes associated with this problem are machine stoppages due to failure, set-up stoppages and lack of order and cleanliness in the work area. Thus, the proposed solution is based on the implementation of three Lean manufacturing tools (SMED, 5S and autonomous maintenance) that are directly related to the root causes of the main problem. Likewise, with the implementation it is expected to obtain a 5% increase in the availability of the milling process, increase the MTBF, decrease the MTTR, the set-up time and the disorder in the area. The results obtained thanks to the simulation of the SMED tools and autonomous maintenance showed an availability of the milling process of 82%, an increase in MTBF from 27.27 hours to 39.30 hours, a decrease in MTTR from 2.36 hours to 1.84 hours, set-up time from 301.28 min to 210.02 min and in the pilot test with the help of 5S, it was possible to reduce the disorder in the work area from 66.67% to 29.33%.
