There is a branch of advertising called social advertising, which unlike commercial advertising, does not aim at generating economic benefits but seeks to highlight social issues and raise awareness. Peru is a primary exporting country historically marked by inequality. Despite mining being a key factor in our economy, it has brought about significant environmental and social challenges. The campaign "Water Stories'' by Red Muqui is a notable example of social advertising aimed at addressing environmental and social issues caused by mining activity in Peru. Through a documentary film, the campaign sheds light on the negative impacts of mining on water sources and communities living in mining areas, as well as the environmental risks posed by mining liabilities in cities. The methodology used included research tools, interviews with affected individuals, experts in the field, and representatives from social organizations, along with techniques for generating creative ideas. The campaign yielded positive results, with 22 physical screenings held nationally and internationally. Currently, the documentary has garnered over 100,000 views on YouTube, indicating its impact and relevance in raising awareness about environmental and social challenges associated with mining in Peru.
