The objective of the study was to identify prescription errors and pharmaceutical characteristics of medications in the prescriptions processed in the SIS pharmacy of the Manuel Núñez Butrón Regional Hospital in Puno from January to December 2022. A quantitative, retrospective, non-experimental crosssectional design was used. with observation as a technique and the form of observation as an instrument. Prescription errors were classified according to patient, prescriber, and medication data. Data analysis was carried out using descriptive statistics tools in Microsoft Excel and SPSS software. The results showed a significant level of prescription compliance, with 74.2% accuracy in patient data, 62.36% in medication data, and 76.67% in prescriber data. The most common error was 6 errors, representing 23.7% of errors. Antihypertensive medications prevailed in 34.3% of cases, with oral administration (92.6%) and tablets (86.9%) being the most common. Conclusion, there was an average of 6 errors per prescription, with antihypertensive medications, oral administration and tablet presentation being the most prevalent pharmaceutical characteristics in the processed prescriptions.
