Objective: evaluate which are the medicinal plants with the greatest significant use in the community of Sumbilca, Huaral April 2023. Materials and methods: mixed approach, non- experimental, descriptive and cross-sectional design, sample 200 adult inhabitants of both sexes. Survey technique and data collection questionnaire instrument. Results: it was possible to obtain relevant information on the use of medicinal plants and 20 species were identified for the community of Sumbilca; the most used is molle 50%, eucalyptus 39%, tara 35%, paico 35%, muña 34%, congona 25%, mito 24%, oca 24%, potato 22%, nettle 21%, Sulda Sulda 20%. sweet potato 18%, Capulillo 16%, apple 15%, muña negra 7%, matico 5%, avocado 4%, peach 2%, pacay 1% and broad beans 1%. related to the therapeutic use of people, maintains that medicinal plants can be used in one or more varieties for the same disease, having similarities to our data obtained. Conclusions: regarding the origin of knowledge of the use of medicinal plants, the participants stated that they acquired them from their grandparents in 26% and from uncles to a lesser extent of 17%. This shows that knowledge is transmitted by the family.
