The objective of this non-experimental research work was to make a proposal to expand the accreditation scope of the Inspection Body FSCertificaciones S.A.C. (FSC), for hygienic-sanitary inspection in processing plants of hydrobiological products for direct human consumption, based on the NTP ISO/IEC 17020:2012. In order to meet this objective, a diagnosis of the current management system of the Inspection Body was carried out, using a checklist based on the DA-acr-11P-05F format of the INACAL-DA and the documents required for the scope were prepared. According to the diagnosis, the Inspection Body complied with 95% of the regulatory requirements. The non-compliance detected was related to the accreditation scope: the work profile of the authorized inspector, updated inspection procedure and the sanitary and hygienic inspection checklist for hydrobiological product processing plants. Then, for the proposal to expand the scope, the next documents were developed: the work profile of the authorized inspector, a standardized procedure referring to inspection activities, instructions to facilitate the development of the inspection and a checklist referring to the expansion of the accredited scope.
