The project aims to conduct a preliminary study for the installation of a recycling factory for the manufacture of PET resins from plastic waste, which will seek to reduce the impact generated by urban waste on the environment and create a precedent in the country for new initiatives pro environmentalists. In this regard, the necessary research has been carried out based on the knowledge acquired in the industrial engineering career to determine the viability and profitability of the project. In the first place, the topics of market study were discussed, where the characteristics of the product were defined and the demand of the project was identified, which was calculated based on historical data (production, imports and exports). The maximum demand for PET resin was calculated at 22.058 bags/year in the year 2028. Second, the macro-locations of Lima-Callao, Piura and La Libertad were raised to install the plant, of which Lima-Callao was the winner with the factor ranking method, and the micro-location of Chorrillos, Rimac and Carabayllo, being Chorrillos winner. Third, in relation to plant size, an equilibrium point of 500 bags / year (each bag of 1000 kg.) was calculated at a sale price of S/.4.017; and an installed capacity of 27.518 bags / year. From this it can be concluded that there will be no problem to cover the projected demand, the level of sales is above the equilibrium point generating profits. The production process has processes of: reception of urban waste, manual selection, prewash, detection of other plastics, grinding, friction washing, drying, homogenizing, extrusion, polycondensation and bagging. In addition to inspections and quality controls. All these operations would be carried out in a production area of 970.23 m2. Finally, the level of investment necessary for the start-up of the project was determined. This was set at S /. 9.405.780 calculated by Lang's estimate (modified from Peter-Timmerhaus). Investment that will be financed with a debt / capital ratio of 1.5, with constant fees to a TEA of 20% to 10 years with 2 years of partial grace in the pre-operative period.
