The objective of this study is to examine whether there is a negative effect between domestic or intrafamily violence and the possibility of employment of young people in Peru. For this purpose, the database of the National Household Survey (ENAHO) for the year 2022 was used, which offers information on the individual characteristics of Peruvian young people affected by violence, the levels of violence experienced and the properties of the home. . The binomial Probit methodology was used to evaluate the effect of the variables and examine their connection. The results reveal that the experience of domestic violence reduces the probability of employment for a young Peruvian, since those who suffer from it face traumas and conflicts that make it difficult to remain in the labor market, which is related to feelings of insecurity and fear. In addition, other variables that influence youth employment were identified, such as geographic location (departments) and individual characteristics (age, gender, length of schooling).
