The high probability of seismic occurrence in Peru is a latent risk that, if it occurs, would affect construction. For this reason, structural health monitoring (SHM) systems are currently being implemented, which consists of carrying out constant control of the structure through the use of sensors that collect parameters of the structure that are sent to a data processing system. In the following thesis work, the La Oroya hospital located in the province of Yauli is proposed as a case study in order to carry out a cost-benefit analysis of implementing an SHM structural health monitoring system. For this, a review of the literature related to studies carried out on SHM systems in Peru and abroad was carried out, then the modeling of the structure for the modal analysis was carried out where the dynamic parameters of the structure and the modal forms were obtained. . In this way, it was possible to determine the location of the sensors in the plant and at the required levels. Finally, the cost of the implementation of the SHM system was quantified, which for the following thesis was S/.13'947.00 for a monitoring period of 2 years, which represents 0.04% of the total budget of the project, so the cost is guaranteed. benefit since maintenance costs that far exceed the cost of implementing the SHM system for the chosen analysis period are prevented.
