This thesis presents a proposal for a solution to the problem presented by the increase in water demand as a result of demographic growth in the towns surrounding the Rímac River, for this purpose it is proposed to create an embalming structure in the waters of the Huacracocha Lagoon located in the department of Junín, province of Yauli, district of Morococha, with the purpose of analyzing, through a hydrological balance, the capacity of the lagoon to mitigate demand over a period of 50 years. For this, the tools provided by the WEAP software were used, which allowed determining, based on the characteristics of the terrain, the flow and volume of water resulting from precipitation during the analysis period, which were 0.192 m3/s and 0.504 MMC (millions of cubic meters), as an annual average respectively. On the other hand, in relation to the embalming attempt in the study area, it is proposed to build a structure 15.10 meters high, which allows storing a volume of water of approximately 2.50 MMC. Furthermore, in order to analyze the wear and tear of the infrastructure, the ArcGIS software was used, specifically the RUSLE extension, which allowed determining the dead volume generated by the sheet erosion of the environment accumulated during the analysis period, resulting in a total of 0.28 MMC of sediments. Finally, with all the information obtained, it was confirmed that the supply covers 100% of the water demand, so based on the geometry of the reservoir obtained based on the USBR method for gravity dams, the execution cost was determined. of the project, as well as the long-term economic benefits showing the profitability of the proposal with an internal rate of return of 17.78%.
