Through this professional proficiency work study, the main development was the continuous improvement methodology called PDCA (Plan, Do, Check and Act) with the purpose of being able to increase the performance of tires. haul trucks in the mining company, due to the increase in tire consumption in mine operations, which had the impact of cost overruns in the purchase of tires. Through the PDCA methodology the following was established. It began with the planning stage where an analysis of the data on scrap tires was carried out to identify the basic causes and based on this, analyze it with a prioritization matrix and determine its impact. The next stage corresponds to the execution of all the actions that are tied to the execution of the installation of the TPMS project or tire pressure and temperature monitoring to resolve all the activities related to the main causes. Then during the third stage the verification of the results obtained began. The performance in the mining companies on average has a performance of 4500 hours, while in the mine where the present study was carried out it had an average performance of 3650 hours at the beginning and after the installation there was an advance of 15% more than performance or 550 more hours for tires. In addition, through the use of the TPMS it was possible to control high temperatures and pressure leaks where in 2023 there was a reduction in scrap tires of 189 units; That is, 32% less than in 2022. On the one hand, a reduction in the purchase of tires of less than 252 units was also achieved in 2023 versus in 2022, this due to TPMS monitoring. Thanks to these actions, it was possible to reduce it from 10 million dollars to 7 million dollars; That is, the costs of purchasing tires were reduced by 30% in the year 2023. Finally, it is concluded that the PDCA method could be carried out to solve the present problem effectively and efficiently through the use of information technologies and tire management.
