The objective of this document is to develop a proposal for the implementation of a maintenance plan for critical equipment in a metal-mechanical services company in Lima. The development of the project covers the current situation of the company, identifying critical equipment which generates operating expenses and loss of profits, under an availability of 76% of the equipment. For the proposal of the optimized maintenance plan, the RCM methodology will be used, as well as the tools and strategies that this methodology proposes, according to the types of machines and their respective failures. The objective is to increase the availability of the equipment to 90%, reduce the MTTR to 8 hours and increase the MTBF to 120 hours. Under the methodology used, the indicators drawn are achieved by identifying the causes that generate low availability as can be seen in chapter II and the implementation of the RCM step by step linked to the failure modes and effects as seen in chapter III. Finally, after the development of the improvement proposal, the viability, profitability and operational benefits obtained after the implementation of the proposal will be validated through economic analysis, which we can see in chapter IV.
