Material and Method: Analytical observational study of cases and controls, in patients with a diagnosis of asthma who attended the outpatient clinic of the Pediatric Service of the Víctor Lazarte Echegaray Hospital between April and June 2024, who performed the Pediatric Asthma Control Test (C- ACT). Carrying out a multifactorial study, using the non-probabilistic statistical test of Pearson's Chi square. The variables BMI, age, sex, adherence to treatment, exposure to sensitizing agents, hospitalizations and indoor smoking were analyzed with a 95% CI in relation to asthma control. Results: According to the Odds Ratio test, by multivariate analysis, it was found that the ratio between the presence of overweight-obesity versus the absence of overweight-obesity is 3.17 times greater in patients with poor asthma control compared to patients without this pathology, this association being statistically significant, because of the total patients with poor asthma control, 84.6% were overweight-obese and of the total patients with good control, 63.5% were overweight obese. Furthermore, Pearson's Chi Square test confirms that there are sufficient reasons at the 5% level (p < 0.05) to establish that overweight-obesity is associated with poor asthma control. Conclusion: The results of this study indicate that there is a significant relationship between Body Mass Index and poor asthma control. However, age, sex, exposure to sensitizing agents, and indoor smoking did not show a significant association with poor asthma control
