Determine the relationship between hypercaloric eating habits during pregnancy and adverse maternal-perinatal outcomes in postpartum women. Material and methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted with 191 postpartum women who gave birth at Belén Hospital of Trujillo (HBT) between January and February 2024. Using the 24-48 hour recall technique, a data collection form was designed to record hypercaloric eating habits (caloric intake >30 kcal/kg/day). This form was validated by expert judgment with a Cronbach's Alpha of 0.80. The strength of association between variables was determined using the prevalence ratio (PR) with 95% confidence, considering a relationship to exist when the PR value is >1 and the confidence interval does not include one. Results: Of the 191 postpartum women who participated in the study, 87 showed hypercaloric eating habits. In this group, 88.5% (77 women) experienced adverse maternal-perinatal outcomes. On the other hand, of the remaining 104 women who did not have hypercaloric habits, 68.3% (71 women) presented adverse maternal-perinatal outcomes. This translates to a Prevalence Ratio (PR) of 1.18, with a statistically significant level (p < 0.05). Among the most common adverse maternal-perinatal outcomes observed in women with hypercaloric habits were cesarean delivery (83.9%) and fetal macrosomia (16.1%). Conclusion: Hypercaloric eating habits during pregnancy are associated with a high prevalence of adverse maternal-perinatal outcomes, such as cesarean delivery and fetal macrosomia
