Objective: To determine if a history of bronchiolitis is a risk factor for bronchial asthma in children treated at Hospital II-2 Santa Rosa-Piura. Material and Method: This is an observational, retrospective case-control study with secondary data collection through medical records of pediatric patients hospitalized at Hospital II-2 Santa Rosa during the period 2017-2022. A p-value < 0.05 was considered significant. Result: In the study on bronchiolitis as a risk factor for bronchial asthma in children treated at Hospital II-2 Santa Rosa-Piura, it was found that the average age of children with a history of previous bronchiolitis and asthma diagnosis was 9.56 years, and 10.26 years for those with only an asthma diagnosis (P=0.06). Among children with a history of previous bronchiolitis and asthma diagnosis, 25.45% were male compared to 30.91% without a history (P=0.03). Additionally, 40.91% of children with a history of bronchiolitis came from urban areas, compared to 46.36% without a history (P=0.06). Prematurity, lack of breastfeeding, and family history of bronchiolitis were significant factors in cases with a history of bronchiolitis and asthma diagnosis, with ORs of 2.12, 1.9, and 2.13, respectively. The presence of asthma showed significance with an OR of 2.67 in cases with a history of previous bronchiolitis (P=0.02). Conclusion: A history of bronchiolitis is indeed a risk factor for bronchial asthma in children treated at Hospital II-2 Santa Rosa
