Objective: The main objective is to determine if the CRP/albumin ratio is a predictor of mortality in patients with severe pneumonia due to SARS-CoV-2 Patients and Method: A retrospective cohort study was conducted, including 129 patients admitted to the emergency department of Hospital Belén de Trujillo (HBT) during the period 2020-2023. An exhaustive review of the medical records of patients who died and survived severe pneumonia with positive diagnostic tests for SARS CoV-2 was carried out. Results: The analysis revealed that the CRP/albumin ratio at admission is an independent predictor of mortality in patients with severe COVID-19 pneumonia (RRa 7.72, 95% CI 2.47-22.28, p<0.01). Conclusion: The CRP/albumin ratio proved to be a predictor of mortality in patients with severe pneumonia due to SARS-CoV-2
