This document supports the work experience as general coordinator in the Department of Parks and Gardens of the District Municipality of San Miguel, where the application of a digital tool is described in order to carry out the diagnosis of the environmental problems of the district, proposing improvements related to environmental management. As a general objective, it was proposed to evaluate the indicators of ecosystem services of urban trees using the i-Tree Canopy tool to contribute to better management and environmental management in the district of San Miguel. For this, the information provided by the urban forest inventory was analyzed, gathering demographic and green area information, quantifying carbon sequestration and the removal of the main air pollutants, applying the digital tool, as well as interpreting the results obtained from based on ecosystem indicators to propose improvements in the management of tree cover. The applied methodology was based on defining the study area, designing the work plan according to the problems found, gathering and processing the relevant information obtained from the inventory; subsequently, apply the i-Tree Canopy tool, analyze the results, the same ones that allowed identifying the inputs to obtain the ecosystem indicators. The urban forest inventory identified a total of 22 123 individuals of tree size; Applying i-Tree Canopy, it was found that the most removed pollutant was ozone (O3) with more than 7,8 tons/km²/year, followed by PM10 with more than 2,2 tons/km²/year and that were sequestered 1 635,91 tons/km²/year of CO2 (equivalent); Likewise, the main indicators were that the tree cover per capita was 9,4 m²/inhabitant and that there are 0,14 trees/person. These results allowed readjusting the work plan to improve the management of urban trees, through the increase and diversification of species in the afforestation.
