This investigation took place in a small mining gold beneficiation plant of 25 TMD (metric tons per days) of ore processed with a leaching or cyanidation process and a daily consumption of 600 kg of cyanide to dissolve the gold. This study is made up of the process flow, review of the current management and the characterization of the waste to seek alternatives for the recovery of solid waste with the purpose of a solid waste minimization and management plan. In the diagnosis of solid waste management, more push should be put into raising awareness of the importance of segregating and temporary storage of solid waste, essential since they are stages of solid waste management operations. The characterization of solid waste was carried out in 7 days where the average generation was determined 175.01kg/day where the cyanidation area represents 67.3%. The hazardous waste generated represents 46%, and cyanide packaging represents 33%. The daily generation intensity is 2.59 kg of waste per equivalent ounce. With the implementation of the solid waste minimization and management plan, it was possible to identify the environmental and economic benefits, both with the change in the presentation of the main inp
