In this research, the objective was to determine the relationship that exists between ecotourism activity and the sustainable management of the Puerto Viejo wetlands in the inhabitants of the San Antonio district. To develop this study, ecotourism activity and sustainable management were considered as an opportunity for a solution to the loss of its typical flora and fauna of its district. In the methodological part, an applied type was used, with a quantitative approach, so that data collection was used that was later analyzed, with a correlational level, because it measured the relationship between the ecotourism activity and sustainable management, the The population was made up of 1802 inhabitants of the district, with ages ranging from 15 to 60 years, for the sample 200 inhabitants of the district were surveyed. It was concluded if there is a relationship between the ecotourism activity and the sustainable management of the wetlands, because the inhabitants recognize that the ecotourism activity should have been implemented in the resource since it mitigates the negative effects that the tourist activity brings with it, in addition to counteracting the ambition that continues to haunt this area, placing more value on its biodiversity, since they want their resource not to be lost over the years.
