In the present research work, the influence of recirculating the nutrient solution in an NFT hydroponic system on the yield and quality of lettuce (Lactuca sativa L.) variety Tropicana was evaluated. The experiment was developed under a complete randomized design with six treatments and five repetitions in the facilities of the Eco-Verduras production center, located in the Vista Alegre Annex, district of Imperial, province of Cañete and department of Lima during the months of February. - April 2021. The recirculations evaluated were 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 daily frequencies, for a time of 15 minutes. The recirculation system was activated by a manual ignition electric pump, at 7:00, 11:00, 13:00, 15:00 and 18:00. The best yield and quality results were found with four (T5) and five (T6) recirculations of the nutrient solution, with a total yield of 72.10 t.ha-1 and 73.84 t.ha-1 respectively, compared to the absolute control 16.9 t ha-1 (T1); A similar effect was observed with plant weight, 434.29 g/plant (T5) and 444.89 g/plant (T6). Regarding quality, a significant effect was observed, verifying better results with four and five recirculations of the solution, which achieved a greater leaf area 7575.83 cm2 /plant (T6) and 7346.71 cm2 /plant (T5) compared to the absolute control 2365.32 cm2 / plant (T1); For fresh leaf mass, 433.30 g/plant (T6) and 422.82 g/plant (T5) were obtained compared to the absolute control, 92.32 g/plant (T1) and in number of leaves with 40 units/plant (T6) and 38 units. /plant (T5) compared to the absolute control 22.4 units/plant (T1). In the present investigation it is convenient to opt for frequencies of four (T5) recirculations of the nutrient solution.
