--- This research work was carried out from July 2014, in the months following was determined the presence of two heavy metals (lead and cadmium) in drinking water for human consumption coming from San Juan Pampa - Pasco área reservoirs. This work was made an geographic division in the area of San Juan Pampa, defining 3 zones: zone of high, medium and low. In each zone was a home that has the basic services of water and drain with the purpose of obtaining samples from their respective daily use faucets. Since the distribution of drinking water in areas of study does not have a set schedule, and is less daily sampling was performed in a day from 7:15 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. obtaining 20 samples of drinking water in sterile jars, sealed and refrigerated for the respective analysis of cadmium and lead. The results obtained by the method of spectrophotometry by graphite furnace atomic absorption, were as follows: cadmium: maximum concentration was 0,1076 mg/L and the minimum concentration of 0.0013. The overall mean concentration was 0,0155 mg/l. also the mean concentration of cadmium in the low area is 0.024 mg/L, the average concentration of the middle zone is 0,0117 mg/L, the average concentration of uptown is 0,0099 mg/l lead: the máximum concentration was 0,5504 mg/l and the minimum concentration was 0.002 mg/l and the average concentration was 0,2152 mg/l. With regard to lead: the average concentration of the low area is 0,2313 mg/L, the average concentration of the middle zone is 0,1925 mg/L, the average concentration of the high area is 0,2228 mg/l. With this information, we showed the presence of high levels of cadmium and lead in drinking water for human consumption, belonging to the area of San Juan Pampa - Pasco, becoming a major source of pollution of the settlers and exceeding the permissible limits according to the World Health Organization (who). KEY WORDS: Cadmium, Lead, Spectrophotometry by Atomic Absorption with Graphite Oven, lower, middle, upper area. Permissible limits, World Health Organization (WHO).
