--- Iresine weberbaueri is a well known plant species in traditional medicine as it is used as a powerful anti-inflammatory. It was collected in Oscurana, Bolivar village, province of San Miguel de Pallaques, department of Cajamarca, in January 2008. The phytochemical screening of ethanolic extract of flowers Iresine weberbaueri reported the presence of secondary metabolites such as tannins, flavonoids, alkaloids, glycosides and phenolic compounds. It performed partition ethanolic extract with solvents of different polarity, yielding extracts: n-hexane, dichloromethane, methanol and water. The study was based on the biological Bioassay to evaluate the regenerative effect of solar erythema in the extracts obtained with a concentration of 15% propylene glycol, by the dermal route, as determined in preliminary biological assays, determined as the most active extract, dichloromethane, both in the clinical evaluation and in the histological report. The extracts obtained were developed in the form of cosmetic gel and were studied by bioassay to evaluate the regenerative effect in solar erythema, with a concentration of 15% in a gel base consisting of water, extract, Triethanolamine, Carbopol 940, and methyl Propylparaben, by the dermal route, determining the most active gel-based extract of dichloromethane, both in the clinical evaluation and in the histological report. Bioassay was conducted by comparing gel-based extract of dichloromethane versus the effect produced by the gel cosmetic after-sun “, which presented a similar result as to the histological report. It performed tests to determine their physical chemical characteristics, which has obtained a viscous gel with natural color given by the extract, the pH value was 6.5, the viscosity was 61 000 cP. Microbiological testing was performed to obtain the preservative system was suitable for this type of formulation. Key words: Bioassay, epithelial regenerative effect, flavonoides, after sun product, solar erithema.
