--- The study has as goal to establish the differences irrational believes and parenting behaviors from a group of family mothers victims of violence from the partner in comparison to a group of family mothers that are not in this condition. The type of this investigation is a transversal type descriptive with a comparative design. In order to fulfill goals has been determined a sample with a non probabilistic sample process not intentional, that was formed by two groups. One first group with 100 mothers that report being victims of violence from the partner and went to a psychological evaluation at Medicine Legal Institute from Lima Norte and a second group from 92 mothers who not report to be. Information collection was done with two inventories. The inventory of Rational Behavior of Shorkey & Whiteman (1977) and the Inventory of Parental Behavior of Lovejoy (1999). The statistics used were the arithmetical average, the U de Mann-Whitney. Tests of ranges with pair signs of Wilcoxon and the correlation coefficient of Pearson. Among the principal results was found that exists significant differences in irrational believes, being battered mothers who present highest scores in the factors frustration, approval needs, guilty sense, inertia and evasion, approval, misfortune ideas and confidence in emotion control. In addition were found significant differences in parental behaviors, reporting battered mothers with a minor probability to present a hostility/coercive behavior and major probability to present support/compromise behavior toward her sons. The implies of findings were discussed in coordination to goals, to preliminary realized studies and country psychosocial reality. Keywords: Partner Violence, Irrational Beliefs, Parental Behavior.
