-- N. caninum is the causative agent of major economic losses in livestock due to causes abortion and neonatal mortality in cattle. The aim of this study was to determine the frequency of N. caninum in dairy cows left the basin of the Mantaro Valley. We evaluated 182 female cattle sera from 15 dairy farms in the districts of Matahuasi, Concepción, July 9th and Santa Rosa all of the province of Concepción (Junin), being a frequency of antibodies against N. caninum of 46.7 ± 7.24% (85/182). It was observed that the district maximum frequency was 68.75% Matahuasi with the district and less frequently the Santa Rosa with 17.8%. Except for a stable district of Santa Rosa, everyone else had at least one positive animal N. caninum. These results confirm the presence of a relatively high frequency N. caninum. -- Key words: Neospora caninum, cattle, frequency, antibodies, dairy farms.
