--- Objective: To determine the perinatal characteristics of newborns National Hospital Dos de Mayo over in 2015. Materials and Methods: A descriptive study, which used an existing data from the Register of Revenue Neonatology service collecting data from the mother and newborn infants as having 2662 of total population, the data were processed and presented in tables and graphs. Results: The prevalence of better prenatal care was the highest of 71%, followed by inadequate prenatal checkups to 25%, the male was 50.18% prevalence, the term infants occupied 94.4% of the total, were late preterm ( n = 117), the weight of infants of extremely low birth weight, with the lowest values were 0.41%, newborns with appropriate weight for gestational age had a higher prevalence of 78%, while large for gestational age were second in frequency with 14% .The most common type of delivery was cesarean section with 57.74%, 31.52% corresponding to the emergency cesarean section; According to the Apgar scores at 5 minutes, infants with Apgar score at 5 minutes 7 more were 96.76%, then 4-6 with 2.33%; obstetric trauma was the most prevalent cephalhematoma (n = 41), followed by broken collarbone (n = 24). Conclusions: In this study, the data found are similar to previous studies in the country and other countries, premature found ranged from extreme prematurity until late prematurity as well as weights ranged from extremely low birth weight to large age- gestational both prematurity and birth weight are related and both contribute to neonatal mortality.
