This study was a descriptive and transversal type, which purpose was to evaluate the knowledge level of oral health’s prevention in a group of 75 first pregnancy women that went to theirs prenatal checks on the Daniel A. Carrion National Hospital. To determine the knowledge level was made an application form of 22 questions, to evaluate the knowledge on preventive measures, oral sickness, dental development and relation between pregnancy and dental attendance, and the results can be grouped between the following intervals: bad (0-6 points), regular (7-13 points) and good (14-20 points). Besides, questions were included for the fulfillment of specific objectives such as age, pregnancy term, instruction level, visits to the dentist, reasons why they are receiving or not dental attendance. The study founded that the more efficient knowledge level was the regular one, with a 60% (45 pregnants). The lower average was for the aspect of the dental development (04). Also can be observed that the greater part of this group was of high school level and in the same manner, the age more frequent was the pregnants younger than 20 years. Significant differences were not found between knowledge level and age, pregnancy term, visit to the dentist. A close relation was found between the instruction level and knowledge level.
