OBJECTIVE: To establish the risk factors for the recidivism in adolescent pregnancy treated at the National Teacher Mother Child “San Bartolome“ Hospital in 2014. METHODS: The study was analyzed cases and controls. The sample was composed 194 adolescents in total, divided into two groups: 97 adolescents with recurrent pregnancy (case group) and 97 adolescents with a single pregnancy that culminated in childbirth (CONTROL GROUP). For a simple case group and the control group for convenience sampling random probability sampling it was performed. In the descriptive analysis were estimated absolute and relative frequencies (%) and measures of central holding (X) and dispersion (DS). To evaluate the association was used Chi-square test and to assess the risk the Odd Ratio (OR). RESULTS: Between the personages of risk for recurrence of adolescent pregnancy were single marital status (p=0.000) (OR=4.53) and snuff consumption (p=0.03) (OR=4.86). Respect to reproductive and obstetric factors, early menarche (p=0.000) (OR=8.07), the initiation of sexual intercourse less than 15 years (p = 0.000) (OR = 6.39), the number of sexual partners than or equal 3 (p=0.003) (OR=4.94), the non use of contraception (p=0.036) (OR=1.88), sexual risk behavior (p = 0.004) (OR=2.42), unplanned pregnancy (p = 0.000) (OR=6.33), cesarean delivery (p = 0.013) (OR=2.20) are associated to the recurrence of teen pregnancy and formed a risk for the same. Between the psychosocial risk factors include a history of psychological violence (p=0.022) (OR=3.60), the frequent change of partner (p=0.001) (OR=2.71) and age less than or equal to 19 years couple (p=0.035) (OR=2.53). CONCLUSION: Marital status Single, snuff consumption, early menarche, the onset of sexual intercourse before age 15, to have from 3 to more sexual partners, not using contraception, risk of sexual behavior, pregnancy non planned cesarean birth, history of physical violence, changing partners and lower age of 19 partners are risk factors for the recurrence of adolescent pregnancy treated at the National Teacher “San Bartolome“ Mother Child Hospital in 2014.
