Bioseguridad en internos de odontología del Hospital Nacional Hipólito Unanue en el año 2002

Abstract

El presente estudio fue de tipo descriptivo, transversal, teniendo como propósito evaluar el nivel de conocimiento y cumplimiento de las Normas de Bioseguridad en Internos de Odontología del Hospital Nacional Hipólito Unanue en el año 2002. Para determinar el nivel de conocimiento se elaboró un cuestionario de 24 preguntas, agrupándose los resultados en 4 intervalos y el cumplimiento se evaluó a través de una lista de cotejo, el cual fue realizado observando a los internos durante su actividad clínica sin que éstos se dieran cuenta que eran evaluados. El nivel de conocimiento fue muy bueno y el cumplimiento abarcó al 59.5% de internos. No se encontró relación estadísticamente significativa entre el nivel de conocimiento y el cumplimiento de las normas. Se encontró que casi el 50% de internos incumplió el lavado de manos. El 100% de los internos no cumplió con los métodos para reducir la formación de aerosoles. Un alto porcentaje tenía conocimiento y cumplió con el manejo correcto de desechos contaminados. El 17% de internos no conocía el esquema de vacunación contra el VHB y el 19% no recibió ninguna de las dosis.

-- The present study was of descriptive, crosssectional type, having live intention to evaluate the level of knowledge and fulfillment of the Norms of Bioseguridad in Internal of Dentistry of the National Hospital Hipólito Unanue in 2002. In order to determine the knowledge level a questionnaire of 24 questions was elaborated, grouping itself the results in 4 intervals and the fulfillment was evaluated through a list of collate, which was made observing the internal ones discreetly during its clinical activity. The knowledge level was very good and the fulfillment included to the 59.5% of internal. Was not statistically significant relation between the level of knowledge and the fulfillment of the norms. One was that almost 50% of internal failed to fulfill the washing of hands. The 100% of the internal ones did not fulfill the methods to reduce the formation of aerosols. A high percentage had knowledge and fulfilled the correct handling of contaminated remainders. 17% of internal did not know the scheme vaccination against the VHB and 19% did not receive any of the doses.
