The objetive of this thesis was to apply the analytical technique near infrared spectroscopy to quantify Dicloxacillin 500mg capsules. Three different batches of dicloxacillin capsules were evaluated by this technique and the results were compared using the Minitab 16 statistical software, with the results obtained by the HPLC technique according official pharmacopoeia USP37 NF32; for which statistics student t test applied in which a P-value> 0.05 for all three batches was obtained; it concluded that the results of both techniques are equivalent to a 95% confidence. Validation parameters for the analytical technique were also evaluated by near infrared spectroscopy: selectivity, linearity, precision and accuracy. It has demonstrated by the statistical procedures, that proposed analytical technique for quantifying Dicloxacillin is selective, because it has not shown that the excipients interfere with the identification of the spectrum of the active ingredient, is linear because a correlation coefficient r = 0.994 has obtained; it is required for repeatability because RSD of 0.96% has obtained; and intermediate precision RSD of 0.89% has obtained; and finally it is accurate because a recovery rate of 99.93% has obtained. Compliance with validation parameters set, the validity for the application of the technique of near-infrared spectroscopy was proved. Keywords: Near infrared, quantify, validation parameters, selectivity, accuracy, precision, dicloxacillin.
