--- The following study is descriptive and transversal. The objective of this study was to determine the predominant regions face in securing the care patients presenting to orthodontic of Oral Health Institute Peruvian Air Force (OHIPAF) by observing a balanced face. The sample was probabilistic, consisting of 106 patients from the orthodontic of OHIPAF who they are receiving care in 2015 . To achieve the objective, a literature review was conducted and a questionnaire consisting of 4 specific questions was proposed and validated by expert judgment. The instrument assessed that region of the face (eyes, nose, mouth, chin, cheek and forehead) is observed first region also face what is seen longer and in what order. For the study, the questionnaire was applied to 106 patients, 63 were women and 43 men, their ages ranged from 18 to 29 years, neither was a student or professional dentistry. Patients were shown a photograph of a balanced face. This image was previously analyzed and selected by expert judgment. When asked what region of the face was observed first in a balanced face, the eyes were observed in the first region (34.9% ), mouth ( 32.1 % ) ; the front ( 20 % ) , the cheek (6.6% ) and nose ( 5.7 %). In reference to the time patients focused their attention on regions of the face when observing a balanced face ; mouth is the region longer observed ( 36.8 % ), followed by the eyes (33%), cheek ( 12.3%) , forehead (11.3%) , nose ( 5.7%) , and chin ( 0.9 %). The study concludes that the eyes and mouth are the regions of the face in which patients focus their attention. Given these results, we see that both eyes and mouth play an important role when assessing a face of a person. Keywords : facial, facial aesthetics, smile.
