-- Breastfeeding is determinant to the development of the child; it is also recognized its influence in the craniofacial development. However, there is not strong scientific evidence that confirms the influence of breast feeding in the growth of specifics facial structures. In order to evaluate the direct influence of breast feeding and bottle-feeding in the mandible growth, a longitudinal association research was conducted in 90 newborns treated in the “HODOMANI San Bartolomé” since April to November of the 2008. The children were distributed while they grow up in 3 groups: exclusive breastfeeding, exclusive bottle feeding and mixed feeding, 4 anthropometric measures (length, width, height and depth) were made monthly from birth to 6 months.
