--- Ninety piglets non-vaccinated saws of intensive breeding at the province of Lima were used from June to November of 2003 to evaluate two programs of vaccination against Mycoplasma hyopneumoniae using three experimental treatments of equal numbers of animals (n = 30); in treatment 1 the pigs were vaccinated when they were 35 at 56 days of age, treatment 2 was at age 42 and 56 days and treatment 3 was the control group of the same age. The effect was measured on blood serum to detect antibody titers using the ELISA test (HerdChek*M hyo) at 3, 6, 10, 12, 16 and 21 weeks of age. The blood samples taking at 21 and 35 days were before the vaccination treatments, the antibody titers for treatment 2 was lower (p is less than 0.005) than these of treatment 1 and control; however, after vaccination the antibody titers increased similarly on day 70 in both treatments 1 and 2, but these two treatments were significantly (p is less than 0.001) different that the control. Afterwards the titers levels remained steady until the end of the experiment, but both were still significantly (p is less than 0.005) different that the control. There was no effect of treatments on body weight gain during the experiment. It was concluded that these were a better response on the antibody titers after vaccination.
