-- All health professionals need to exchange views with other specialists on the care of certain patients. According to the model of comprehensive health care (MAIS) implemented in 2006 in Peru should be made an integral attention of people. Interconsultation (IC) is a media encountered by professionals in order to provide optimal care to the health problem presented by a patient. The aim of this study was to determine the source medical services, diseases, medical diagnostics presumptive cause for IC and IC dental diagnosis of patients at the Hospital Nacional Arzobispo Loayza. We reviewed medical records of patients Odonto consultation to the department between the years 2006-2007 and were collected to study variables. It was found that the Department of Internal Medicine performed much of IC followed by the services of Infectious Diseases and Emergency. Ostemuscular system diseases and connective tissue are the most prevalent in patients who are of IC, seconded by blood diseases and endocrine. The presumptive diagnosis of facial trauma and facial cellulitis are the most prevalent in the IC interconsultation reasons as desfocalización and corticosteroids are the most prevalent, followed by toothache, jaw injury and to exclude febrile syndrome of dental origin. The diagnoses were dental caries, gingivitis localized pulp necrosis and toothless as the most prevalent, followed by root fracture, facial abscess of dental origin, alveolitis and suppurative sialadenitis. The activity of the dentist as a member of the healthcare team is limited in relation to specific cases interconsultations just and necessary.
