Lima - Peru 2009”. The objectives were to determine the perception of diabetic foot patient on their body image in physical, psychological and social development. The study is level application, quantitative, The population was composed of 50 patients who diabetic patient amputated In the period December, 2009. The technique used was the interview and the instrument was a standard form of LicKert Modified Scale. As for the perception of the diabetic patient amputated on his corporal image of 100 % (50), 56 % (28) has an unfavorable perception opposite to 44 % (22) favorably on his corporal image. In the physical aspect we have that 54 % (27) has an unfavorable perception opposite to 46 % (23) favorably, in the psychological aspect we have that 56 % (28) has an unfavorable perception opposite to 44 % (22) favorably and in the social aspect 58 % (29) has an unfavorable perception opposite to 42 % (21) favorably. For what one concludes that the hypothesis of study is rejected due to the fact that the majority presents an unfavorable perception recounted in the physical aspect for demonstrating that before having his amputated member they were meeting more attractive, in the psychological aspect it affects them to think that it might lose more parts of his low extremities, they have dread of not returning to walk with normality, and about the social thing they think that they are a load for his family and feel that his family shows disinterest when they ask for help for some activity. Nevertheless there exists a minor percentage that presents favorable perception in the physical aspect indicating that though it is true they do not possess the extremity, but they assume it and feel comfortable using crutches and / or chairs of wheel, in the psychological aspect not they inconvenient to speak on his bill) of health with other persons and in the social aspect they does not displease his new aspect and they are nice in company of his family since they are the best support to continue forward with the disease.
