--- The aim of this investigation was to determine the professional image, the strengths and weaknesses of Medical Technologists in Radiology (TMR), in the opinion of THE other health professionals in two hospitals: Dos de Mayo (HNDM) and Guillermo Almenara Irigoyen (HGAI) according to the function the TMR performs (healthcare, administrative and research), besides to make a comparison between the opinions of professionals from both institutions. A questionnaire was applied. The study was cross-sectional, descriptive. The sample consisted of 201 professional from HGAI and 185 from HNDM. There was a trend to qualify as regular image of TMR, on average 65%. When analyzing the samples of each hospital it is seen differences depending on the hospital. In HGAI the 33% felt that the image is good, while in the HNDM only 1% gives that assessment. Regarding the health care function, in both hospitals, over 50% felt that the image is good and a very small minority qualifies it as bad. It was produced conflicting views, in HGAI 74% felt that the image is good, whereas in only 35% from HNDM considered it as good. Regarding the administrative function, it happens the same; in the HGAI professionals qualified the TMR image as good, while in HNDM the majority felt that the image is regular. There are significant differences in the views of professionals of HGAI and HNDM, but in research function, in both hospitals the image was considered mostly bad (74%). Conclusion: The TMR professional image is consider regular, the strength is the healthcare function, while the weakness is the research function.
