--- Objectives: To determine the behavior of dentoalveolar trauma (TDA) in patients presenting to the emergency of the National Institute of Child Health. Materials and Methods: This descriptive, cross-sectional observational sample was taken on the entire population of patients presenting to the emergency department at the National Institute of Child Health diagnosed with TDA from July to November 2015, the record it was made using a data collection sheet and clinical examination the patient using the classification of Andreasen. The tabulated data were entered in SPSS statistical program for Windows (version 20.0). Results: One hundred and a total of 101 patients with TDA, appearing traumatized 146 pieces, including 125 were temporary and 21 permanent. The most common lip contusion injury was followed by avulsions. The age had a higher frequency was 0-2 years, occurred more frequently in males (62%) than females (41%). The most common causes were falls (87%) and the time from trauma to the eye was more frequent than 0-4 hours (49.5%). The teeth most frequently affected was the primary dentition (76%) and parts more often injuries were the upper central incisors for both of dentition (60.3%). Conclusions: The TDA have a quite variable behavior, most frequently affecting the soft tissues, followed by periodontal tissues, and are presented at an early age and more frequently in males, affecting mainly the upper central incisors.
