--- Análisis of stomach contents and the stomach morphology were performed for 5 species of sigmodontine rodents including Akodon orophilus, Microryzomys altissimus, Microryzomys minutus, Thomasomys notatus y Thomasomys kalinowskii from montane forest at Huánuco, Perú (from 2564 to 4445 m). Indices of niche breadth and overlap were calculated for diet. Consumption of arthropods (adults and larvae) was predominant in Akodon orophilus, comprising 90.1% of diet by volume. On the other hand, consumption of plant material was predominant in Thomasomys notatus (>89%) and Thomasomys kalinowskii (67.75 % from consumption of plant, mainly was seeds). Microryzomys altissimus and Microryzomys minutus had a clear tendency towards omnivory with high proportion of plants and arthropods (adults). Based on these data, niche breadth (Levins’ Index) ranged from 1.70 in A. orophilus these value suggest that this rodent acts as a “specialist” to 4.61 in T. kalinowskii showing that this specie do not discriminate among resources, thus this rodent acts as a “generalist”.
