--- The quasi-experimental research with pre and post test and control and experimental group aimed to determine the effects of relaxation in states of anxiety and procrastination program in new students to the Faculty of Social Sciences of the Universidad Nacional de Tumbes 2015, the sample the stratified type was formed by students of professional Psychology, Education, Communication Sciences and Management in Hospitality and Tourism divided into experimental and control group respectively academic schools, all of which were evaluated on a scale of trait anxiety scale procrastinación academic before and after applying a relaxation program to assess its effects. Registration of events was implementing a program for ten sessions, after which the changes obtained by participants were assessed on variables study. The results found that the measurements varied markedly between the control group and the experimental group as well as the measurements before and after. It was concluded that the applied relaxation program has positive effects on students and managed to significantly reduce the stages of anxiety and procrastination. Keywords: Relaxation. Anxiety.
