--- The aim of the present study was to analyze the mesio-distal width and incisocervical length anatomic crown dimensions of the maxillary anterior teeth and discover if these dimensions are related with the tooth shape in an adolescent population of the Peruvian region of Junín. The study design was descriptive, cross-sectional, and analytic. The sample consisted of 80 study models (39 female and 41 male) selected based on inclusion and exclusion criteria. Direct width and length measurements of the maxillary anterior teeth was done with a 0, 01mm calibrator of precision digital, The tooth form was registered by direct observation according to the “law of the harmony of Williams“. It was found that the central incisor was greater than the canine and this to the lateral incisor, the width and length tooth dimensions were greater in males showing statistical significance, except the lateral incisors width. The tooth shape with increased incidence is the ovoid, followed by the quadrangular and triangular. The analysis according to gender shows a statistically significant relationship with the maxillary incisors according to the “Chi square“ test (p < 0.05), this way to the masculine gender corresponds quadrangular incisors and ovoid incisors to the feminine, no relationship was found between the tooth size and tooth shape. It concludes that the values obtained in the present study is a good parameter for the integral treatment of this population and the tooth form saves significant relationship with the gender and not with the tooth size. Key words: size – shape - tooth proportion - morphology - aesthetic - design of smile.
