The present study evaluated the biocompatibilidad of a cement with the help of the association Uncaria tomentosa (Willd) D.C. and Calcium Hidroxide, as well as that of a cement type Grossman - Endofill. 37 rats white race American Holdzman was used, sex male, three age months, of weight 300gr. approximately. An animal was sacrificed without placing him any it implants to evaluate the normal anatomy of the rats. The other ones were divided in three groups: group A or control, with it implants hole; group B with the cement association; and the group C, with the cement type Grossman. To each animal they were placed two you implant with the material to evaluate, one to each side of the loin. The animals were sacrificed after periods of 1, 3, 7 and 21 days. After having obtained the samples, the microscopic analysis demonstrated that in the first two periods the cements produced a sharp type inflammation, and in the last periods a chronic type inflammation. All the materials produced inflammatory reaction, however the group control and the Group B corresponding to the cement association, showed the smallest inflammation levels. Also, in the Group B in the last period samples of reaction tisular notorious fibroblástica were observed. The cement type Grossman, with the help of Oxide of zinc-eugenol, it demonstrated bigger reaction inflammatory tisular, which diminished in the last period. The inflammatory reaction with the cement association was of smaller intensity, taking place an answer favorable histologic, accepting you as a biologically acceptable. It is recommended to study this cement in longer periods of study and to improve the physical properties.
