--- Introduction: It is the responsibility of the dentist, knowledge and management of medical emergencies that may arise in a query. Objectives: This study's main objective was to assess the level of knowledge about the handling of medical emergencies caused by the administration of lidocaine with epinephrine by inmates of the Faculty of Dentistry of San Marcos in 2015. He also had secondary objectives and identify the level knowledge in handling toxic, psychogenic and allergic reactions caused by the use of lidocaine and epinephrine. Methodology: This study involved all domestic undergraduate (49); Data collection was through a questionnaire of 20 questions which were analyzed using SPSS version 19.0 program. Results: It was found that the level of knowledge was 11 (Regular Level). The management of allergic reactions was best known yielding an average of 12 (Regular Level) followed by knowledge management psychogenic reactions with an average of 11 (Regular Level and finally the management of toxic reactions the least known with an average of 9 (Regular Level). Conclusions: The level of knowledge in the management of medical emergencies arising from the use of lidocaine with epinephrine for dental inmates of San Marcos is regular; so you need to implement more training in handling to provide optimal care and minimize the risks involved and in the administration of the anesthetic solution Keywords: Emergency - Toxic - Psychogenic - Allerg
